Wednesdays 10:00AM: Butterfly walks

Daily Hawk Watch through April 15, 8:00 AM to 1:00 pm

Daily Tram tours. Please come to the Santa Ana NWR Visitor Center
9:30AM, Noon & 2PM: to purchase your tickets at least 20 minutes before departure.

April 27, 8:00 AM to Noon:  Volunteer Invasive Species work day at Santa Ana NWR.  meet at Anzalduas County Park.  Lunch is provided.  Must be at least 18 years old.

OFF-SITE EVENTS
April 6:  Volunteer Work Day at Gabrielson Tract. Call for information.

April 13, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM:  6th Annual Park Day at the Palmito Battle site.  Hear historians interpret the battle and learn about local wildlife conservation.

April 20, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM:  South Texas Refuges will have a South Texas Wildlife tent at the Vida Verde event at Quinta Mazatlan in McAllen.  Live critters, kids’ activities and more.  Come see us!!

Directions: the Refuge is 18 miles east of Rio Hondo, TX on FM 106

Refuge Habitats Tour: Enjoy a 2 1/2 hour guided tour through our coastal habitats including forest, prairie and the Laguna Madre on our climate controlled bus.  Sundays 1:00PM – 3:30PM  FREE, but reservations are required as space is limited.  Call 956.748.3607 to make your reservation today.  The vehicle is wheelchair accessible.

Family Fish Camp: Learn the basics of fishing from experienced anglers. FREE, more info and register at www.fishingsfuture.org . April 6, 9:00am – 2:00pm. Held at Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park, in Arroyo City.

Twilight Tour: Discover the refuge habitats and see which animals become active at night on this 2 ½ hour guided tour on our climate controlled bus. Bring binoculars and jackets. April 13, 6:30pm – 9:00pm.  Call 956-748-3607 ext. 111 to make your reservation. FREE with $3 entrance fee. The vehicle is wheelchair accessible.

 

 FEE FREE Sundays

 

  Entrance fees for Santa Ana and Laguna Atascosa NWRs are waived the first Sunday of every month!
