Birds, Butterflies and other Rio Grande Valley Wildlife: Presentation at Bentsen-RGV State Park
Take a photographic journey across the Valley and see images of native wildlife of South Texas. On Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park will be hosting a program by Ron Renk.
Ron & Mary Renk are Winter Texans and Texas Master Naturalists. The balance of the year they live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan about four miles south of Lake Superior and the mouth of the Big Two Hearted River immortalized by Hemingway in his short story. Their home is only forty miles from Whitefish Bay Bird Observatory.
In the winter, Ron and Mary Renk reside at Bentsen Grove Resort. They spend extensive time visiting the many World Birding Center sites enjoying nature, taking photographs, and volunteering at the various lower Rio Grande Valley parks and nature centers. They have been involved as volunteers at Bentsen-RGV State Park’s Nature Center, Hawk Watch, Bird walks, and various school group outings.
This program is free with park admission. Pre-registration is required & space is limited.
